Runway to red carpet: How to wear icy frosted eyes

Runway to red carpet: How to wear icy frosted eyes

Cool tones may usually be associated with the winter months, but they caused a storm at the spring summer shows and we can’t help but love this seasonal contradiction.

Make-up artists at Aquascutum, Peter Jensen, Zac Posen and Louise Goldin kept their palettes cool with icy blues, silvers and pastel pinks and transformed models into snow queens with frosted textures.

Jennifer Hudson wore this metallic look for this year's Grammys. Ms Hudson had clearly been taking notes from the front row at fashion week. She swept frosted silver shadow over her lids and gave it an after-dark edge by blending dark blue at the outer corners of her eyes. Lashings of black mascara and black liner in her inner lash line give her peepers such depth and sexy feline shape, she looks worthy of grabbing a Grammy!

These shimmery shades are perfect for creating light-reflecting looks for balmy sunny days but remember to keep the rest of your make-up matte to avoid looking like you've had a collision with a snowman.

Play with all colours from light hues to jewel tones but just make sure they have a frosted finish. The fun part is that there are no rules when it comes to the products; kohl liners, powders or cream eyeshadows, you can use them all.
