Runway to red carpet: How to do peachy make-up

If you love a low-maintenance trend, say hello to peachy monochrome make-up, modelled at Missoni, Anna Sui and Balmain.

How peachy does Reese Witherspoon look at the Monsters Vs Aliens premier? Ok, so being loved up might give the girl a glow but it was the perfectly applied apricot hues on her eyes, lips and cheeks that really warmed up her face and made her features come alive.

All you need to do is pick a soft palette of tawny-peach to sweep over eyes, cheeks and lips, and your spring complexion will be miraculously brightened. The best bit? If you're on the run, one genius product will save the day. "Use one shimmery peach lipstick three ways, dotting it on eyes, lips and cheeks," says backstage make-up pro Val Garland. Try Lipstick in Jist by MAC for a multi-tasking trick like this.

Follow our steps to make this minimalist make-up trend make you look like you, only prettier.

Get the look:

1. Apply an apricot blusher, like Multi-Blush Cream Compact in Golden Apricot by Clarins to the centre of your cheeks. Then, instead of blending upwards with a blusher brush, blend downwards to sculpt cheekbones and create an outdoorsy flush.

2. Smooth a shimmery cream shadow with a peachy-gold glint, like Cream Eyeshadow in Whipped by Urban Decay over lids and under the lower lids to sculpt the eyes without it looking like you are wearing much make-up. Then, for a subtle look on lashes, use the backstage trick of pushing black or brown mascara just into the roots. We love Define-a-Lash Mascara by Maybelline for its slimline wand.

3. Finish with a slick of peachy lipgloss, such as Brightening Lipgloss in Peach by Bobbi Brown and you'll be good to go.
