Runway to red carpet: How to braid like the catwalk
Jennifer Aniston

Braids are always a catwalk favourite and for spring summer the beloved boho staple didn't disappoint.

The catwalks love to braid although this time around, thin plaits were given a glamorous makeover - framing the face alongside super shiny tousled hair.

Jennifer Anniston upped the luxe factor (well, it was the Oscars!) for the red carpet with her hippie twists. A simple, single side plait, braided into the hair and tucked behind the ear manages to look so elegant and chic as it's framed with hi-gloss textured tousles. We love...

Get the look:

1. Start with a super smooth blow-dry: rough dry hair first, and then divide it into 3-inch sections. Wrap a large round brush like Thermal Round Brush Large by Aveda around each section, and pointing the hairdryer downwards for maximum shine, blast the dryer from the roots to the tips to inject some volume and subtle waves.

2. When the hair is dry, help the kinks look 'undone' and textured by brushing them through with your regular hairbrush.

3. Comb in a deep side parting and from the longer side, take a one inch section from the front and divide it into three. As you begin braiding, add in small sections from the sides every time you plait so it's fixed to your scalp. Tie the ends with band, and tuck the braid behind your ear.

4. To tame flyaways and add an extra shot of shine, smooth a drop of De-Frizz Shine Serum Spray by Mark Hill (available at Boots) over the style.
