YSL has caused something of a stir or, rather, frenzy, with the upcoming launch of its Fusion Ink Foundation.

The brand's latest beauty innovation won't become available in the UK until next month, but already 12,000 women have signed up to the waiting list in an attempt to get their hands on the new must-have foundation.

So what's all the fuss about? Well, the Fusion Ink Foundation isn't any old liquid foundation. This one promises to stay put for a whole 24 hours (flaky, patchy end-of-day foundation face be gone!), whilst retaining the same smooth, matte, and velvety texture that it has when it goes on first thing in the morning.

How? According to the beauty brains at YSL, it's all thanks to space-age technology. Made using lipophilic active material, which can absorb four times its weight in sebum (hello forever matte complexion), as well as fatty acids to aid glide and micro-coated milled pigments to boost brightness and hold, YSL claim this is the most 'scientifically advanced make-up in the world.' It certainly sounds like it.

And, apparently, it works. Women that have already tested the foundation have given it a solid thumbs up. 97 per cent of women tested agreed Fusion Foundation gave skin flawless coverage, while 90 per cent revealed the formulation adjusted to their tone perfectly, and impressively, 95 per cent of testers reported skin still felt comfortable after 24 hours of wear.

Lloyd Simmonds, creative director of make-up at YSL, said: “The aim was to create a weightless formula with an invisible, long-lasting coverage and that’s what we have.”

Frankly, we're surprised not more women have joined the waiting list. Our names are already down...

The foundation will be available exclusively at branches of Debenhams from August 10 and then nationwide from August 20. See you in the scum.
