Queen Elizabeth II only wears Essie nail polish in Ballet Slippers

The Queen keeps her nails manicured with Essie's Ballet Slippers

The Queen will only wear one shade of nail polish, it has been revealed. The colour in question? Essie's classic shade, Ballet Slippers.

Known for her regimented style - the Queen rarely deviates from her block colour skirt suits - it's perhaps no surprise that Her Majesty has stuck to the same pale pink lacquer over the past four decades.

Essie's website recounts the story of how, back in 1989, the Queen's hairdresser wrote to Essie Weingarten, the woman behind the brand, requesting a bottle of the ballet which is loved and worn by many.

While her Royal hands are rarely seen without a pair of gloves, we trust that Ballet Slippers keeps the Queen's nails looking lovely at all times.

And, at just £7.99 a pop, the varnish comes without the regal price tag. So now we can all feel a little bit like the Queen, if one chooses to.
