Kate Bosworth Talks Skincare And Wedding Day Beauty Exclusively To InStyle

Kate Bosworth has exclusively revealed to us her flawless skin-care routine, and how she and Michael Polish prepared for their big day...

When Kate Bosworth announced her engagement to director Michael Polish, we all knew their wedding was going to be one of the chicest we were ever likely to see – and guess what? We weren't wrong.

While we might not have actually been present at the nuptials last August (our invite must have been lost in the post), these photos from the big day have made us feel like we were.

Wearing bespoke Oscar de la Renta, (the designer also kitted out Kate's mother, aunt and niece, just FYI), the bride was the very definition of elegance and sophistication.

Unsurprisingly, this wasn't just a quickie at the town hall, but rather a four-day event at The Ranch at Rock Creek in Montana. And it sounds like guests were kept busy over the long weekend with a series of activities including horseback riding, fishing, hiking, biking and archery.

'We started to prepare eight months prior by visiting The Ranch at Rock Creek in January to understand the landscape and the housing,' the actress told us. 'Michael and I were very specific as to how we wanted to enjoy our special weekend.'

Practicalities aside, what we really want to know is what went into Kate's bridal beauty regime. Although the actress has always had that kind of flushed, dewy skin that makes us almost cry tears of envy, she revealed that it wasn't simply a case of (hashtag) 'I woke up like this.'

In fact, Kate had a 'six month long-term skincare plan leading up to the wedding, which included using SK-II's cleanser and Facial Treatment Essence, and the LXP Serum, LXP moisture rich cream, and the Skin Signature eye cream followed for hydration. Plus, I made sure to layer the Cellumination Aura Essence for its incredible brightening effect.' Wow. We can barely plan far enough ahead to replenish our face wipe supply before it runs out and we're left splashing our face with warm water and an old bit of soap.

Kate's advice to other brides? Do the same. 'Prepare your skin 3-6 months before. Be sure to hydrate well! If you are planning a destination wedding, try and arrive a few days before the guests/the event... Preparation is key. Finally, let go. It's essential to feel the moment.'

Well, if you can look this good, maybe we'll give it a go – wedding or no. Head to Harrods.com for all SK-II's products...
