Give in to nostalgia with Claridge’s and Christian Dior

Claridge's and Christian Dior perfumes introduce a whole new way of getting ready to party.

Hollywood's ultra-glam Thirties screen sirens such as Jean Harlow and Mae West got down to the business of being beautiful at their dressing tables - at great leisure. And now the celebrities' favourite London hotel, Claridge's, has teamed up with leading fragrance house Christian Dior to bring guests Dior Dressing Table at Claridge's, an exclusive dressing table service offering everything you need to get ready for a swish night out.

During this unique experience, guests staying in the hotel's Linley and Claridge's suites are treated to a range of timeless accessories, including a personalised cream silk dressing gown, sky-high marabou mule slippers and a rose-pink cashmere eye mask. The dressing table itself, meanwhile, overflows with powder, ruby-red lipstick and nail varnish, as well as a range of classic Dior fragrances including Miss Dior, Diorella and Diorissimo. For as Mr Dior himself said, perfume is an outfit's 'finishing touch'.

Calling to mind a lost era when women spent hours in their boudoirs perfecting their look, this exclusive dressing table service is the ultimate in modern escapism. As Claridge's general manager Philippe Leboeuf says, "We have identified from our guests a desire to experience some nostalgic escapism and sense a return to bygone glamour. Both Claridge's and Dior are synonymous with the combination of impeccable heritage, inherent glamour and contemporary thinking".

The nostalgia-fest continues with the drinks. Guest can sip on delicious Thirties-style cocktails such as Daisies, Juleps and Pick-me-ups from the Dressing Table Cocktail menu from Claridge's Fumoir bar, all from the original recipes and served in precious Lalique glasses. Classic novels from Evelyn Waugh and Nancy Mitford, meanwhile, are on hand to further the mood and a collection of jaunty songs from Josephine Baker and Fred Astaire just beg to be danced to.

Mae West once said, 'Too much of a good thing is wonderful'. We couldn't agree more!

The Dior Dressing Table at Claridge's service costs an additional price of £300 to the quoted room rate. Call 020 7629 8860 for reservations, or visit
