Top make-up artist Mary Greenwell reveals all about working with stunning singer Nicole Scherzinger exclusively with InStyle...

“Wow! I had the privilege to be with Nicole Scherzinger all last week while she promoted her album in Paris, and then got her ready for her television performance on Saturday night.

“She is a total inspiration: unbelievably beautiful, very talented and so kind and funny. I loved being with her and would give my right arm (I am left handed!) to have her skin and general gorgeousness."

She added: “Nicole loves make-up, which is such a joy as a make-up artist, plus, when on stage, it’s important for your eyes to really project, especially with the very strong lighting of television.”

Mary’s Get The Look for Nicole Scherzinger…

Nicole’s skin tone is actually quite dark; she is a wonderful ethnic mix.

She also likes to look dewy and glowing. So I prepped her skin with Sarah Chapman Skinesis Age-Repair Concentrate, which is deeply nourishing, and used Sisley Confort Extreme Levres on her lips for extra comfort.

This was followed by Armani Fluid Sheer Embellisher No.11, as a primer for maximum glow, and Armani Face Fabric second skin nude make-up all over face and blending down her décolleté. Her skin certainly doesn’t need a heavy foundation.

So to make those big eyes really pop, I used Chanel palette no. 18, Kaska Beige. This is fabulous palette works perfectly with her Hawaiian skin tone. I used the pale colour on her brow bone and blended the gold, soft brown and deep chestnut on her eyelid and socket of eye, creating a rust smoky eye.

This was exaggerated by black liquid liner by Chanel in the roots of the lashes, brought out gently at the outside corners and the line softened using black powder eye shadow on top.

Her eyelashes were curled with Shu Uemura eyelash curlers, and coated once with Sublime de Chanel mascara in black.

I used Ardell lashes, demi wispies, which are the best I have ever come across. They look natural but add all the volume needed. Then loads more of mascara, blending her real lashes with the false.

Brows were filled in with Le Sourcil de Chanel no.20, brun - the effect was incredible!

I used a very gentle blush by Chanel, no 82, Reflex. It is a warm peach colour with a shimmer of gold on the apple of cheek, and St. Tropez bronzer for warmth all over her face.

Nicole looks fabulous with a soft toned pale mouth to compliment her strong eyes. She also looks great with lip liner to accentuate the gorgeous shape of her mouth.

I used Laura Mercier lip liner in Redwood followed by Chanel lipstick in Santa Monica, a soft apricot colour that worked perfectly with her cheek colour.

I used Jemma Kidd Showstopper Year Round Body Glow on her legs and arms to highlight her great limbs that looked fantastic on stage with her white dress.

I sprayed her with my signature fragrance, PLUM, which she loves, and off she went to perform in front of half of Britain.

Mary adds: "She looked so beautiful with her wild long jet black hair that soaks up Fredrick Fekkai hair products for shine and volume. She swings her head around so magnificently… I wish I could do that! In my next life!

"Just off to meet her this morning for more press today and Graham Norton this evening. I hope she had a restful Sunday; she is such a hard little worker… we can only admire that!"
