Estée Lauder has cast one of the most successful supermodels of the 80s and 90s, Stephanie Seymour, as the star of its latest campaign.
Stephanie Seymour made her name as a model several decades ago, appearing on the catwalk for the likes of Versace and Chanel, as well as showing off her beautiful face and body on numerous glossy magazines.
Despite not taking to the catwalk for some time, it's clear Stephanie's modelling days are far from over. And perhaps this partnership was always meant to be. Speaking to WWD about her new role, Stephanie revealed that her mother had envisaged her daughter would one day be a face of the brand.
'Whenever I heard they were looking for models, I would always cross my fingers and hope. For a model to work with Estée Lauder is the pinnacle of things.'
Although the campaign images are being kept close to Estée Lauder's chest for now, we do know that they were shot by Mario Sorrenti during the extreme New York winter last week.
Estée Lauder's global brand president, Jane Hertzmark Hudis, explained how the brand wanted a woman that represents modern women and beauty to work for them.
'Stephanie represents modern women today in such a beautifully articulated way and she represents modern beauty and luxury to us. This campaign will speak to the beautiful complexity that makes her who she is.'
The 45-year-old mother-of-four joins fellow models Joan Smalls, Hillary Rhoda and Carolyn Murphy as a global spokesperson for the beauty brand.
Stay tuned for the campaign, launched later this year...
