Christian Louboutin is about to become way more affordable thanks to their new foray into beauty

Think Christian Louboutin and one thing really pops to mind; that red sole. So much so, it's joined the likes of Chanel's quilted handbag as one of the most iconic fashion pieces of all time; so, imagine our excitement when we heard that they're launching a new, very affordable range.

While the brands sexy high heels might come with a, ahem, luxury price tag, there's now a way to get your hands on something from the Louboutin collection without maxing out your credit card...

It has just been announced that Christian Louboutin will release its first ever beauty line; a set of nail polished that reflects the shoe collection itself. Although the move from footwear to talons might not seem to connect, there's a pretty good reason behind it.

Talking to WWD, the French founder of the brand - Christian Louboutin himself - revealed that as his third collection was completed in 1992, he was left unimpressed by the lack of colour and general effect he felt lacked in comparison to the original sketches. So, what did he do? In a rash move, Christian grabbed a jar of red nail varnish from his assistant and applied it to the sole, unknowingly creating one of the most coveted shoes of all time.

The new range nail polishes will echo his current collection and be categorised into three colour families – Pop, Nude and Noir. And, unsurprisingly, his signature red hue has been given the special treatment with its own unique packaging and towering spike cap.

Just think how cool these will look stacked along your dressing table...

Available in-store and online from Selfridges on August 14th, this is one nail polish we can't wait to get our hands on.
