Make-up at Chanel’s haute couture spring/summer 2013 fashion show was anything but understated!

Dramatic make-up was the order of the day at Chanel’s haute couture Spring 2013 fashion show in Paris.

Models paraded down the catwalk sporting two of beauty’s hottest hair and beauty trends: the smokey eye and messy updo. Both were done in a theatrical way complete with a gothic twist!

AW12 HAIR TRENDS TO TRY AT HOME

Chanel’s global creative make-up director, Peter Philips, created a deep smokey eye with smudged out black eyeshadow and mesh eyelashes that had a slept-in quality.Fingernails were painted in pink, while toenails were dark navy.

100 EASY HAIRTSYLES

Hair stylist Sam McKnight created messy updos and used feather, tuelle and lace materials to mimic 19th century hair rags. The statement blue, black and white silk hair accessories were draped over the models faces. Although we might not be working this beauty look anytime soon, we still absolutely LOVE it!
