Amazon has added another string to their ecommerce bow, with the launch of a new luxury beauty store. Among the 24 brands stocked on the new section of the site, are Nars, Stila and fragrances from Burberry.
Customers are able to search for products by feature, category or trend, with editorial also provided by Amazon beauty editors.
“We have heard very clearly from our customers that they are looking for luxury brands,” Chance Wales, Amazon's director of beauty and health and personal care told WWD.
Offering better shipping rates than many other online beauty stores, it looks like this latest venture from Amazon will do very well. It remains to be seen however, whether the costly cosmetics will mirror the discounts of the books section…
