Blake Lively has bagged herself a major role within the beauty realm, as she’s announced as the new face of L’Oreal Paris.

The Gossip Girl star will take on the respected role of spokesperson for the global beauty brand, as she makes her big comeback to the limelight.

It’s a wonder the 26-year-old actress, who married American actor Ryan Reynolds in 2012, hasn’t made this sort of career move sooner. But the match with L’Oreal certainly feels like a perfect fit for the movie siren.

Karl Lagerfeld’s once muse now follows in the footsteps of Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Eva Longoria, Lara Stone and Frieda Pinto.

“I am thrilled and honoured to join the incredible women who represent L’Oreal Paris,” Blake says.

Adding: “I grew up with the inspiration of their message, “We’re worth it”. What an important vaule to instill in women. That beauty is rooted in confidence. That is key. That is why I’m so proud to be a L’Oreal Paris Women.”

Meanwhile L’Oreal Paris Brand Global President, Cyrill Chapuy, welcomes Blake on board: “Blacke embodies all the modern codes of Hollywood glamour.

“She is flashing a substantial swath of upper elegance and sensuality. She has become a beauty icon for a whole generation with her gorgeous gold-dipped hair, luminous gaze and drop-dead smile.”

We won’t argue with that, and Blake’s first campaign shot for the beauty brand doesn’t disappoint.

Showing off her seductive stare, she's snapped in a black and grey frame with smouldering eye make-up and swept-back tresses. Swoon.

We can't wait to see more of Blake's work for L'Oreal!
