There are fragrances that are so symbolic of a period of your life that a simple whiff takes you straight back to happy times. This is exactly what happened to me when I met with Olivier Pescheux, the perfumer behind the re-edited scent collection of über-cool, luxury brand Yohji Yamamoto launching exclusively with InStyle at Selfridges, London, this month.
An iconic scent of a generation, Yohji was the go-to perfume for feeling chic back in the '90s and a quick spritz took me back to hours spent trying to look cool while sipping café on Paris Left Bank. Olivier re-worked the formulas of each of the six scents in the collection so they comply with today’s perfume standards and feel more current but he has definitely managed to retain the original cool factor. Better, he gave life to Senses, the only scent that was never released.
The best news? The promotion will allow InStyle readers to receive 2 x 10ml scents of their choice with any purchase of Yohji Yamamoto 100ml Eau De Toilette.
Go on, indulge in the name of sensual, chic sophistication.
The offer is only valid until 7 August 2013. Prices start from £45 and the range is available at both the London store and at www.selfridges.com.
